pick a path

What did I learn that increased my understanding of Manaiakalani kaupapa and pedagogy?
Today I think I grasped the central importance of creativity to the LCS philosophy.
I had been curious to see how his would be prioritized. Rather than the old
School 'knowledge transfer model or teach to the test'... there is no test and its all about
learning NOT the teaching. With the child at the centre; their creativity is therefore
diving their learning. The symbiotic relationship between learning and creating seems vital
in this approach. This is the approach I am very enthusiastic about in my own practice.

What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow as a professional?
The youtube live streaming 'deep dive' was over my head... but very intriguing.
The youtube 'Channels' and 'Playlists' is of genuine assistance to my practice.
Also I found the Slides and Draw work very helpful. These are the 2 areas where I almost
knew as much as the least knowledgeable person in the room knew.. and that felt pretty
good.

What did I learn that could be used with my learners?
Playlists, Slides and Draw are all useful in my work

What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow in my personal life?
Playlists, Slides and Draw are all useful in my personal life.

DFI day 1

What did I learn that increased my understanding of Manaiakalani kaupapa and pedagogy?
- I started the day with a zero sum knowledge of Manaiakalani and its informing kaupapa.  I now have a accessible memory of the origins of this important collaborative learning story and some of the underpinning values, philosophy and the teaching and learning practices.

What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow as a professional?  'Take homes' for me include a deeper understanding of the need to organise by Drive folders and how to achieve this, along with the importance of the separation of my personal ME and my professional ME with regarding to filing and organizing material

What did I learn that could be used with my learners?  The 3 most useful student relevant tips I gain have been groups, groups and groups.  Also I really like the idea of 'rolling' Docs that are added too.... just like a 'real' book.

What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow in my personal life?  I guess it comes down to clearer demarcations within my work and personal Drives.

Thanks to the facilitators for a great day. - Adi
